The ninth edition of the Biennial of Heritage Restoration and Management (AR&PA) will be held from 13 to 16 November 2014, with the theme of “Society and Heritage”.
Since it was first held in 1998, the AR&PA Biennial has become one of the leading events in the sector in Europe. It is supported by UNESCO and receives European Commission funding for its AR&PA Innovation programme.
The European Commission itself acknowledges the upswing in the cultural sector, which is growing faster than other sectors.
It seems clear that heritage, when properly managed and promoted, can create value and act as a major economic force. It is precisely at this time of crisis that cultural heritage is proving itself to be an alternative and an opportunity.
As stated in the Charter of Brussels, the forerunner of the EVoCH Platform on the Economic Value of Cultural Heritage ( EVoCH web ):
It is against this backdrop that the underlying theme for the Ninth AR&PA Biennial, the interlinked pairing of “Society and Heritage”, has been developed, with the planned approach of this event being more innovative than ever.
You can take part in the AR&PA Fair, AR&PA International Congress, AR&PA Innovation, Open for AR&PA, AR&PA for all, AR&PA initiatives… and many other activities relating to cultural heritage.
We’ll be waiting for you at the AR&PA Biennial from 13 to 16 November 2014. Save the date!
