The Junta de Castilla y León publishes the call of the Awards for Historical Heritage Actions in its 2016 edition
The Order CYT/335/2016 announcing this award, created in 2000, was published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Region of Castilla y León on 29 April. It recognises the most remarkable “actions and management models for a cultural heritage asset or complex” at the international level.
Candidates can be submitted or proposed by “public and private Institutions, Foundations, Associations, Professional Associations and other entities and professionals from around the globe”, related to Cultural Heritage conservation and management. The closing date for the receipt of nominations is 7 October and the international panel of judges will declare the winner on 12 November, during the 2016 Tenth AR&PA Biennial.
In 2014, the award was granted, ex æquo, to the Cabildo catedralicio de Tarazona (cathedral chapter) in recognition of the restoration, promotion and management of the Tarazona Cathedral, and to the Cartagena Naval Museum, in recognition of the recovery and restoration of the Peral Submarine. The 2014 AR&PA Honorary Award was also granted in the same ceremony, on 15 November 2014, to the INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage), in recognition of its dedication to conserving India’s natural, tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
