AR&PA and the Innovation in Cultural Heritage

The 8th AR&PA Biennial will be held in Valladolid from 24th to 27th May.

In this edition AR&PA comes back stronger and innovative than ever and again has the support of the European Commission and Unesco.

The general theme of this edition and of the 8th International Congress is "Innovation in Cultural heritage". There will also be new features like AR & PA Employment and we continue with the programs: AR&PA Initiatives, AR&PA Innovation, Open for AR&PA, AR&PA in Family, AR&PA for Everyone and AR&PA Awards for historical Heritage Actions.

AR&PA has already the participation in the program AR&PA Employment, of the Patrimonio Nacional School and Employment workshops, that another year comes back with their samples of workshops in painting, masonry, binding, interactive workshops for all ages and people with disabilities, workshops to specific publics in illumination on parchment, specific technical decorative, crafts and forge techniques, educational workshops for schools and many more ... Also we have the participation of the Employment workshops of Diputación de Valladolid, the Centro Albayzín, Granada or Cal Morón Museos Naturales, from Sevilla.

If you are an entity that works for job creation in the field of cultural heritage primarily through training, you have your space in AR&PA Employment. Our goal is to show that cultural heritage is an asset, an investment and not an expense, and a major source of creating quality jobs and non-transferable, principles all enshrined in the Charter of Brussels.

In AR&PA institutions will be present: Bankia, the Directorate General of Heritage Community of Madrid, the Ministry of Culture with its project Heritage Young, the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, the Junta de Extremadura, the Regional Ministry of Culture of Melilla, the Fundación de Patrimonio Histórico de Castilla y León, the Fundación Santa María la Real, Fundación Tarazona Monumental, the Diputación de Valladolid, ICOMOS México, the project Sueño de la Luz of the Catedral de León, and other projects such as ITER Plata, Border´s Castles or Monuments for everyone that has the support of Aspaym, Siega Verde World Heritage, Zamora Románica, Románico Norte ...

In AR&PA Business area we have already the participation of ARESPA, the Spanish Association of heritage restoration companies that comes this year with an exhibition space of 800 m² and with all their companies. Also be with us to promote the business around the cultural heritage, companies like Kimia, Valencia, Vitralls Bonet, Barcelona, Sercam, Castilla y León, associations like Pinacal and publishers like Moleiro...

AR&PA Innovation will hold its 2nd edition in close liaison with the European Commission (DG Research), Tecnalia Research & Innovation, Cartif Foundation, and the Spanish Technology Construction Platform. There are already confirmed their participation more than 20 projects from Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Greece, Slovenia, Austria and Spain.

Also, if you have an initiative to show your place is AR&PA Initiatives. We offer a platform for local authorities, partnerships for development, cultural associations, interpretive centres and other entities who have conducted intervention projects and management actions of Cultural Heritage in towns with small populations and territories seeking models development from its historical and cultural resources.
